Affordable Cheap Hosting

So far my experience with my hosting company, Cirtex has been a little better than I expected. They guarantee 99.5% uptime, whereas most hosting companies guarantee 99.9% uptime. So, what's the dilly?

Basically, since switching from my old host provider which cost about 100$ more, my site's uptime hasn't been as steady, however, something important to note is that the speed of my web site's deliverance has increased noticeably. Previously, I would get internal server error's out the yin yang at no fault of my own (just opening up database managing software). That basically translates to downtime, because the pages were not viewable. My old host didn't agree with that, so you see where they are now.

So far, I'm relatively satisfied. Seriously, I can't complain with the prices I'm paying. Even if it turns out that I'm not satisfied, it'll be worth keeping the hosting for side-projects because it's so ridiculously cheap (as low as $2.00/month and up, though I got a higher plan).

Boiling point: Slower server that "over loads" but stays on line VS fast server that goes off line. Oh yeah one other thing, the Live help for my new host is very slow, but with a pinch of patience, the support ticket workers and online chatters are very effective.

Speaking of Online Jobs...

There's a web site that I tell a lot of my friends about, but no one's ever heard of it until I tell them. Perhaps they need to work on their marketing :) Really though, they seem to have a niche, so the web site seems to be pudgy like a Thanks Giving turkey, in terms of staying current.

It's basically a place where people who do computer work can search for contractual work to be done from their home. Yes, that's right, actually working from home. A whole web site dedicated to providing the opportunity for such. The company,, describes itself as "The world's largest online marketplace for freelance talent" and it may be as far as I know. But still, why doesn't anyone know about it? Well, that's what I'm here for, to do what their marketing lacks, because it's just a good site for freelancers.

I believe this article deserves more tags than that, so more people can find work, but I don't want to over-do it.

Note: I seem to do that a lot... Promote sites that deserve promoting due to the quality of their products, features, or services. I especially feel it's right to focus on it when they're not getting the attention they deserve. Kind of like Go-L high performance computers. They have some AMAZING products compared to what else is our there, but I've never once heard anyone else ever knowing about them, whom I don't believe I had told before. You see, what happens, if you tell people about something that's good, more people will know about it, the people who make it can make more for a lesser cost, then you and the people you tell about it can enjoy a high quality product at a low cost.

Well, I suppose I had to over-do something.

Flash Developer Job

If your good using Adobe Flash (especially with web enhanced capabilities), then you may be interested in this. It looks like the following company is looking for people who can develop some creative ways to display photos. It seems like it could be fun. I used to use Flash back in college and that was fun! :-)

If you go for this and get it, let me know how it goes and I'll be glad to share a link (if possible of course) to your work with an update to this page!

Windows Live Writer

I've just downloaded the Windows Live Writer. It's a simple program you can download free that makes blog editing easy as pie. I'm just wondering how quickly I can switch between different blogs. (I do operate quite a few of them)

Besides the blow you're reading now, is one for listing cool sites I find on the web. Since it's related, I'll also post a link to a nifty Feed Aggregator link I found here that also helps you manage multiple blogs.

Windows Live Writer Plugins: I've found some pretty interesting windows live gallery tools too. The selection seems to change depending on which browser you're using. If you're using Internet Explorer it's one thing and Firefox it's something different. Maybe it's just me. Either way, I like FireFFox, but of course, as a web designer I not only use FireFox, but also Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari (because you have to make sure your website works with all of the popular browsers, in case you didn't know). Here's the link for Writer Plugins and Windows Live Writer while I'm at it.
